Privacy Policy

Loadwell is recovery tracking for coaches and the athletes they train. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.
Who this covers
Two kinds of people use Loadwell: coaches, who create an account directly, and athletes, who are invited by their coach and set up a login to record their own daily check-ins. This policy covers both.
What we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and a password stored only as a salted hash. We never store your password in a readable form.
- Athlete records. Names that a coach adds to their athlete list, and the link between an athlete login and that record.
- Wearable data, only with your consent. If an athlete connects an Oura ring, we retrieve daily sleep, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, readiness, and activity figures. We only ever request read access, and nothing is retrieved until the athlete completes the connection themselves.
- Self-reported check-ins. Daily ratings of energy, mood, soreness, and motivation, plus any free-text notes.
- Calorie and training logs. A calorie target type, a daily calorie figure, and a factual record of training completed — session name, whether it happened, duration, and notes. We do not collect itemised food diaries.
- Coach check-ins. Observations a coach records against an athlete, including sleep and HRV changes, stress, and training load.
We do not collect payment details, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
How we use it
- To show a coach their dashboard. The data is used to calculate a recovery status for each athlete so a coach can see who needs attention.
- To generate written insights. When a coach presses “Generate insight”, a summary of that athlete’s recent data is sent to the Anthropic API to produce a plain-language explanation and a suggested message. Under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, this content is not used to train their models. Do not put anything into the notes fields that you would not want processed this way.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the service providers listed below.
Who can see an athlete’s data
An athlete’s data is visible to that athlete and to the coach who invited them. Coaches cannot see each other’s athletes. Every query in the application is scoped to the signed-in account.
Where it is stored
Data is held in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon in the United States (AWS us-east-1). The application runs on Cloudflare Workers. Insight generation sends data to Anthropic. Oura data comes from Oura Health Oy under the access you grant.
Your control
- Disconnect Oura at any time. You can also revoke access directly from your Oura account, which immediately stops any further sync.
- Request deletion. Email jake@loadwell.coach and we will delete your account and associated data. Deleting a coach account also deletes their athlete records and all data attached to them.
- Request a copy. Ask at the same address and we will send you what we hold about you.
Retention
We keep data for as long as the account is active. There is no automatic deletion schedule during the beta. If you want your data removed, ask and we will remove it.
Beta status
Loadwell is in active beta and run by one person. It has not been through an external security audit. Please do not record clinical records or anything you consider highly sensitive. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you directly rather than quietly.
Not medical data handling
Loadwell is a coaching tool, not a medical service. It is not a healthcare provider, and the data held here is not a medical record.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date above and let account holders know by email.
